Joie Avocado Fresh Pod

You already know what happens when you try to store unused portions of avocado. The creamy, green flesh begins turning an unattractive brown almost immediately. Typically, I don’t have that issue as I can eat avocados like apples. However, I will ration them when I’m planning multiple meals or eating alone. I needed a better solution than leaving the pit in, squeezing lime all over it and trying to wrap it in plastic – all proved fruitless.

Enter Joie’s Avocado Fresh Pod. As an avid Marshall’s shopper, I constantly scour the housewares aisles hunting for kitchen gadgets and unique food products. When I came across this avocado pod I was skeptical, but for the nominal price I figured I had nothing to lose. Well, it works! I take the pit out of the half I’m not using and place it cut side down as shown above. I’ve also used it for onions, peppers and citrus. Little did I know, Joie makes pods for those items as well.

Have you tried Joie’s storage pods? Let me know if the comments below.

You know I always scour the Marshall’s houseware aisles so I’ll keep an eye out for one.
